The client; Messrs. Oando Marketing Plc; is the nation’s leading oil marketing retailer, selling/distributing products via over 420 retail service stations and over 500 industrial customers across the geographical zones in Nigeria. They also have 2 operational subsidiaries in Ghana and Togo with over 40 service stations.

As part of their development of a Business Continuity Plan (BCP), and to make provision for agile working spaces that are easily accessible by their staff, in the event of traffic gridlock in the Apapa; Templegate Consultants Limited was invited to submit a renovation/building conversion proposal for the first floor level of the Marina Service Station Building.

The design brief required the following features:

• Seminar/lecture-type; open-plan sitting for approximately 32 persons.
• 2 no. lock-up executive offices.
• 1 no. large conference room and 2 no. mid-sized meeting rooms.
• Male and female conveniences, kitchenette, IT/server room, staff lounge, rear access/fire escape, etc.
• The design should facilitate ease of use and access, with due consideration for the unique considerations of Marina’s vehicular traffic and noise levels prevalent in the vicinity.
